When it comes to turning down an invitation, the last person you would do it to is Lord Alan Sugar. So when the golden invitation turned up, the Directors at Outstanding Branding jumped at the chance to discuss British business and how it can be shaped with a man that is a business genius. The evening was extremely interesting, and Lord Sugar who is now the Government's Business Champion (he hates the word Czar), was his usual bullish, frank and honest self, telling a lot of business heads to "stop moaning" and get on with running their companies. His views on grants were equally colourful, commenting that governments shouldn't be like an ATM where you can just go and get a free hand out. If you are to apply then there should be measures in place to quantify where and how the grant is spent. After 2 hours of discussing everything from VAT to marketing in modern business, Lord Sugar left to rousing applause and thankfully no one was fired. |
